Scottish Cup round-up: Celtic require extra time to book quarter-final spot as St Mirren, Dunfermline and Partick Thistle progress

Celtic needed extra time to advance to the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup after a dramatic 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Dundee in front of a half-empty Celtic Park as St Mirren, Dunfermline and Partick Thistle also progressed to the last eight.

Deadline Day signing Junior Adamu scored on his debut to rescue the match with the final kick of the ninety before fellow substitute Sebastian Tounekti netted the winner inside the second minute of extra time.

The Celtic Fans Collective encouraged supporters to boycott the game in protest of the club’s board, contributing to an unusually flat atmosphere which was mirrored by the team’s lethargy until Adamu’s late equaliser.

The few supporters present rallied behind the team thereafter as Martin O'Neill's side eventually held on for a hard-fought victory.

Last year's runners-up will learn of their quarter-final opponents following the conclusion of Stenhousemuir v Falkirk on Sunday (19:30 GMT).

Elsewhere, Dunfermline Athletic beat Kelty Hearts 2-0 in the Fife Derby and Partick Thistle squeezed past fourth-tier Elgin City 3-2.

St Mirren are also through to the last eight after defeating Airdrieonians 2-1 on Friday evening.

On Sunday, Rangers welcome Queen's Park to Ibrox before local rivals Stenhousemuir and Falkirk meet at Ochilview Park.

Dundee United v Spartans and Aberdeen v Motherwell were postponed due to heavy rainfall and have been rearranged for Tuesday 17 February and Wednesday 18 February respectively.
