Grand Slam of Darts expands to 48-player field for first time at WV Active Aldersley in Wolverhampton - live on Sky Sports

This year's Grand Slam of Darts has expanded to a 48-player field for the first time at WV Active Aldersley in Wolverhampton - live on Your Site.

The prestigious tournament returns to the West Midlands from November 14-22, as the biggest names in the sport battle it out for the coveted Eric Bristow Trophy.

Reigning and back-to-back Grand Slam champion Luke Littler headlines the early confirmed stars to feature at the tail end of the year, alongside 2025 Wolverhampton runner-up Luke Humphries and 2026 world championship finalist Gian van Veen.

The finalists from PDC televised events over a 12-month period are assured of a spot in Wolverhampton, which will make up to 24 places, with five players having already secured their spot.

The 2023 Grand Slam champion Humphries will feature after making the final of last year's Grand Slam and the 2026 World Masters, whilst Nathan Aspinall's exploits as runner-up to Littler at the 2025 Players Championship Finals earns the Stockport star a place.

Beau Greaves will make her fourth consecutive Grand Slam appearance after reaching the final of the 2025 World Youth Championship, and the two finalists from the 2026 World Youth Championship will also secure their spots in this year's Grand Slam.

Following the expansion of the tournament, the 2026 Grand Slam will feature a new group format, with 16 groups of three.

The top 16 players qualified will be seeded by PDC Rankings, and groups will be drawn in bracket order. The remaining 32 players will be split into 17-32 and 33-48 by PDC Ranking order, to be drawn into one of the 16 groups.

There are multiple opportunities for players to secure their places through Premier events in 2026, with places awarded to finalists from the Premier League, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, UK Open, European Championship, World Series of Darts Finals and the World Cup of Darts.

A further maximum of 12 spaces will be awarded to additional qualifiers on top of the 2025 and 2026 World Youth Championship finalists, including the players who finish top of the Winmau Development Tour and Challenge Tour Rankings, as well as winners of the Women's World Matchplay and the Women's Series Rankings.

The winners of the PDC Asian Championship, North American Championship, PDC Nordic & Baltic Championship and the ANZ Premier League will also secure their places in Wolverhampton.

Any remaining places to fill up to 40 players may then be awarded to winners from the 2026 European Tour and Players Championship events, in order of number of event wins and then PDC Ranking Order.

A further eight players will also come through the PDC Tour Card Holder Qualifier on November 6 to complete the inaugural 48-player field at this year's Grand Slam.

Who will win this year's Premier League Darts? Luke Humphries will be defending his title and you can watch the action every single Thursday from February until May on Your Site. .
